Edward Deadmon started his teaching career in his home town of Elizabeth, New Jersey. He worked there for seven years teaching English skills in Elizabeth High School and ran a reading laboratory at Battin Middle School. During this time he earned a Masters Degree as a Reading Specialist and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. He left teaching to work for AT&T and later Lucent Technologies. Mr. Deadmon joins us after working there for seventeen years as a software tester, systems engineer, and project manager. His work assignments and love of travel have taken him all over the world. Mr. Deadmon has his North Carolina licenses in Language Arts, Business Education, as a Reading Specialist and a Career Devlopment Coordinator. He also holds his Microsoft System Engineer and System Administrator's certifications for Windows 2000. This year starts his sixth at Davis Drive Middle as the CDC. As a CDC, he is the liaison to the business community, working with the school's Business Alliance which assists in school to career related activities. The CDC is responsible for planning and implementing each grade's career fair, finding hosts for Job Shadow day and coordinating the student's participation, working with guidance staff to assess students' career interests, acting as the school's contact for the Great Xplorations Career Fair, arranging speakers for PAC and Engineering Week and all other school to career related activities.
