Getting to Know the NCDesk Window Manager

One of the competency goals of the Computer Skills Standard Course of Study states, “ The learner will demonstrate knowledge and skills in the use of computer and other technologies.”

To demonstrate your knowledge and skills, you will be given performance based problems on managing and working between one or more windows.

You may be required to perform several Windows Management tasks during the test. They may include:

  1. Maximizing, minimizing, and closing windows;
  2. Resizing and moving windows on the desktop;
  3. Typing text, selecting text, copying and/or cutting and pasting text into a second window.

Getting Help in NCDesk Window Manager

Because the Menus are much shorter and simpler in NCDesk, you most likely won't have any trouble accomplishing the tasks given. However, if you need help, click the Help Menu in the upper left corner of the desktop to reach the Help Menu.

A new window will appear with links to all the NCDesk Windows Manager functions.

Click on the Back to Application link to return to the test problem.
