North Carolina's CTE Instructional Management System is a system for planning, implementing, and evaluating instruction. This competency-based, computer-managed instructional management system. Career & Technical Education teachers throughout the state is used to collect data on student performance. Local school administrators and workforce development educators use data obtained through this test to improve instruction & document student gains.
The CTE Instructional Management System is an integrated system that includes the use of activities and materials to reinforce basic skills. The content for many CTE courses is based on job skills needed by employers. Teams of North Carolina teachers develop materials with input from business and industry representatives. Existing materials are continuously updated and new materials are developed as needed.
In middle school, the CTE Post Assessment test is currently given to the Keyboarding and Business Computer Training I classes at the end of each semester. This test is a culmination of their semester's learning, counting as 20% of their class grade. For more information go to the Wake County webpage.
