I’m Michelle Young, the 7th grade counselor. I am originally from Mebane, NC and currently live in Apex, NC. I hold a BA in Psychology from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill (Go Tarheels) and most recently a MA in School Counseling from North Carolina Central University (Go Eagles). I am excited to be here at Davis Drive Middle School for my first year as a school counselor. This year, I look forward to meeting and helping many students and parents through the guidance program of services. I will offer individual and group counseling services for students. One of the groups, entitled “For Young Ladies Only” will focus on self-esteem. I will also go into the classrooms to conduct guidance lessons on selected topics. One of those topics will be titled, “Study Smarter, not Harder.” I believe all students could benefit from that! I am also available to meet with parents and teachers should the need arise.
When I’m not here at school I enjoy traveling and shopping. This past summer I visited Florida, South Carolina, and Connecticut. I also enjoy reading and cooking, especially baking. Finally, I treasure time spent with my family.
